Police behaviour

My personal experience of involvement with the police, be it traffic police, or the village bobby, has always been one of courtesy, support and efficiency. So it is with some hesitation I refer to concerns over recent police behaviour.

This morning, I read of the football agent who was arrested when 28 police officers raided his home. Whilst the police are quite correct to investigate alleged irregularities concerning football transfers, it appears this man had already offered to make himself available to help with the enquiries. Taking a man from his home in the early morning, rather than arranging a time of mutual convenience, smacks of high handedness. Were it the first example to cause concern, then I might not be writing this. but, sadly, this appears to be a recurring occurrence.

Is this a case of the police wanting to be seen to be doing something - or just publicity seeking?

It all leaves me feeling a little uneasy.
